We caught up with Ashes & Acid, a rising name in the hardcore scene known for their heavy sound and zero-BS attitude. Straight off a Midwest tour, the band opened up about life on the road, the importance of DIY ethics, and staying true in a social media-driven world.

“We don’t need a filter to make our music matter,” said their vocalist. “We sleep on floors, drive through blizzards, and play for 20 people if that’s what it takes. That’s punk to us.” The band also discussed their latest EP, community support, and their goal to remain fully independent. “The moment it’s about clicks instead of the message, we’re done.”
Their mindset reflects the spirit of the modern underground — honest, aggressive, and rooted in something deeper than streams. Want to hear them live? They’ve got new tour dates up now, and their EP is streaming everywhere real music lives.
